Today I got this amazing deal on used baby clothing at www.Dealpulp.com, for $1 I will get a box of clothes (gently used). Through the Website called THREDUP which offers boxes of used kids clothing. I think this is just a wonderful idea, seeing as one piece of new clothing is as much as one pays for a box full of clothes. Unfortunately, my kids are so rough on clothes, that none of it would make it into the 'gently used' category!
So in the spirit of recycling, reducing, reusing I am hosting my first Giveaway (I am so excited)
The winner will receive
1 Capri Sun Pencil case from Terracycle
1 pack of 4 Recycled PENTEL Highlighters
1 Burts bee's Lip balm
and 2 Whole foods Recycled Tote bags
ENTRY is simple, just leave me a comment on how you like to save money, and at the same time reduce, recycle or reuse. Any comment is welcome. I, for one use plastic shopping bags for garbage, reuse almost every container i get my hands on and try to share things I cannot use.
On Feb. 6 my kids will pick a winner at random (they will draw a name from a hat). Don't forget to leave me a valid email address!!

ReplyDeleteWe like to save money by determining if what we are to buy is truly NEEDED or merely a want, then base our decision on that.
ReplyDeleteWe recycle all we can and are working harder to make better purchasing decisions based on the amount of packaging a particular item has.
I have a dozen or so reusable grocery bags that I use for everything, not just groceries.
We are homeschoolers and so we tend to print out lessons on our printer. Sometimes they don't come out the way we want so those pages get turned print side down on the desk and become scrap paper. :)
we reuse the plastic bags for garbage, also recycle old newspapers and reuse paper for scrap and then recycle it
ReplyDeletei don't buy bottled water anymore and do by in bulk whenever possible to ut down on refuge
ReplyDeletemverno@roadrunner.com
I don't buy canned soda or bottled water. i also buy in bulk since in the long run, there is less packaging.
ReplyDeleteI recycle and have a garden and chickens!

Thanks for the tip on the baby clothes and the giveaway! To save money, I pack my lunch everyday. But to reduce my use of plastic, I no longer use plastic baggies and made my own!
ReplyDeleteSince plants from the nursery are so expensive, I try to save money in the garden by sharing plants and seeds with friends. Thanks for the chance to win the fun prize pack! (krstrpp at hotmail dot com)

ReplyDeleteI shop used at yard sales instead of buying new to save money and to save items from an eternity in a landfill. I also reuse and repurpose things in my home to cut back on costs and consumption.

About once a week, I make a soup or other dish using all the leftovers. It saves money and reduces our kitchen waste while getting everyone fed!
ReplyDeleteThanks-

I save money by using coupons and reusing things I can't recycle. I drive an hour north of here to recycle electronics and save locally unrecyclable plastics to take to a town where I formally lived that accepts all plastics for recycling. Turn in metals and cardboard for cash. We generally set out more yard waste than we do garbage (we would like to compost more of it but simply don't have the room in this suburban yard with many trees.

ReplyDeleteI save money by buying milk in plastic cartons, I reuse them as mini wash pails(cut off the top) , they are so great for that
ReplyDeleteWe recycle constantly, and are always evaluating our buys based off of what we need and what we just want. The family is big endorsers of reusable shopping bags and each car has atleast 2-3, so we will never be caught unprepared!
ReplyDeleteI no longer buy water bottles anymore. I invested in a Brita filter and a reuseable stainless steel bottle. Over the long run, this has saved me a lot of money and helped the environment.

I use cloth bags at the store and I recycle everything (use curbside for some stuff, take the rest to the recycling center myself). I also buy in bulk rather than individually wrapped items, and I reuse baggies and containers.
